Ten patients with hypertension (Stage I, low risk) were randomly assigned to receive either progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) or Peter Hess® Sound Massage in 6-week sessions. The study measured 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure, heart rate variability, and stress processing (SVF 120). A 6-week placebo phase and a 6-week follow-up phase were conducted before and after the main study, respectively.
