Singing bowl friction mallets

Singing Bowls can be made to vibrate and thus sound not only with mallets, but also with friction mallets. Rubbing requires a little practice – the larger the Singing Bowl, the easier it is to elicit the “singing” sounds with the friction mallet. Friction mallets made of wood or covered with textile leather have proven to be effective for Singing Bowls. To gradually create a sustained sound, rub the mallet along the outside of the upper edge of the bowl without losing contact.
