Peter Hess® Singing Bowls are made from high-quality bronze with a particularly high tin content. Tin is a particularly high-quality raw material that is many times more expensive than lead. This contributes to a clear, harmonious sound and even vibration characteristics.

We do not use metals from waste products or scrap. Compared to many industrially manufactured singing bowls, the tin content of Peter Hess® Singing Bowls is not reduced or replaced with cheaper materials such as lead (solder).

Elaborate forging technique in the manufacture of the singing bowls

Another quality feature is the elaborate forging technique. Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowls are forged by hand from a cast blank in numerous work steps. Compared to standardized manufacturing processes, this means around 30 percent more work and ensures a long, even fading out of the singing bowl.

High quality standards of Peter Hess® Singing Bowls

From 1,000 kg of high-quality bronze, about 320 kg of Peter Hess® quality singing bowls are made. Every singing bowl goes through several quality checks during and after manufacturing in India and Nepal. Even though a good preselection already takes place in Nepal and India, some of the singing bowls produced still do not meet our standards for receiving the “Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl” quality seal. Models that do not meet the high requirements for sound, workmanship or material are sorted out and melted down. In addition, all singing bowls are tested again at Hess Sound in Germany and assigned to a quality level.
