Gong friction mallets

In contrast to the gong mallet, the gong reamer is smaller and easier to handle. Rubbing the gong produces completely different sounds than the strike. While the sounds produced with a mallet are usually sweeping, sustained tones can be elicited from the gong with a gong reamer. Depending on the head size of the reamer, you can produce brighter and deeper sounds. In this way, gong graters create a fascinating sound that is reminiscent of the song of whales or dolphins. One feature of our graters is that they do not leave any marks on your gong when you play them.
