Mallets / Strikers / Rubbers

Product Safety Regulation (GSPR)

These product safety instructions are for the sustainable handling of our beaters / mallets and friction mallets.

All of the mallets and friction mallets for Singing Bowls and Gongs that we sell are handcrafted using wood, metal and plastic for the shafts, while the heads are made of felt, fleece, silicone and natural caoutchouc. The individual sizes vary according to the instrument for which they are intended in length and are ergonomically designed to ensure safe handling through a balanced weight distribution.

Since each beater/mallet and friction mallet is a handcrafted unique item, minor deviations from our website or catalog photos are possible in terms of visual properties (wood color of the shaft) or the parameters defined by us (length, weight).

Every beater/mallet or friction mallet undergoes a quality control check to ensure there are no material or manufacturing defects. The beaters/mallets and friction mallets are wrapped in paper or fabric bags and each has an EAN code. For shipping, they are packed with cushioning flakes made of potato starch in recycled cardboard boxes.

The beaters/mallets and friction mallets should be stored protected from water, dirt and dust, as well as from direct sunlight, and should be handled with care, especially in the head area, in order to avoid soiling them or the Singing Bowl or gong being played. Small gong friction mallets in particular should be kept out of the reach of small children, as they could be mistaken for sweets due to their colourful caoutchouc heads. The beaters/mallets and friction mallets should be regularly checked for damage and should not be used if there are any visible defects.

With intensive, regular use, it is unavoidable, despite all efforts, that the head of the beater/mallet – and especially that of the friction mallet – will "wear out" over time. This is not a sign of poor quality, but rather the naturalness of the materials used in conjunction with the applicable laws of physics.

If a beater/mallet or friction mallet purchased from us is damaged, we will be happy to inform you about repair options. If the product needs to be disposed of, it must be disposed of in an environmentally sound manner in the appropriate waste container, according to its material components.
