On September 10th, the International Association of Sound Massage Therapy is hosting an evening dedicated to attachment, connection, and our deep human desire to be in touch. This event invites you to explore human connection from a fresh perspective.
Drawing on the contact cycle model from Gestalt therapy, speaker Cordula Tolkmitt takes participants on a journey through the early stages of life: from the initial deep connection and symbiosis with parents to the first experiences of independence, setting boundaries, and self-discovery.
Sound accompanies participants as a connecting element – as a resonance space between people, as an expression of closeness, security, and relationship. It can support, touch, regulate, and create connection where words are sometimes no longer enough.
The lecture combines aspects of developmental psychology, Gestalt therapy, and body-oriented approaches, exploring how sound can help us connect with ourselves and others.
- How do we connect with the world?
- How do closeness, bonding and relationships develop?
- And what role does sound play in this?
