The Sansula is an innovative new version of the kalimba from Hokema. In this unique thumb piano, the vibration of the metal tongue is first stored in a wooden block, which then transmits it to a sound membrane. This produces a particularly long-lasting, soft, and overtone-rich sound that is easy to play and quickly opens up a world of harmonious tones.

The combination of a solid soundboard and a delicate membrane produces an exceptionally long-lasting, floating tone with rich overtones.

Manufacturing and Materials

The sansula is carefully handcrafted in Germany. Its soundboard is made of solid American cherry and European beech. Both woods come from sustainable, tropical wood-free sources. The surfaces have been treated with vegetable linseed oil, which protects the wood and highlights its natural grain.
