Which singing bowls are suitable for music and sound art?
Above all, singing bowls with clear, high tones and a long or deliberately short resonance. At Hess Sound you will find Zen and Assam Singing Bowls, the Chime Bowl and matching sets. They can be used for sound compositions, recordings, performances and sound effects.
How do Zen and Assam Singing Bowls sound?
The Peter Hess® Zen Singing Bowl has a high tone with a clear sound line and a long resonance. It is cast from a high-quality metal alloy with a high tin content. The Assam Singing Bowls are cast and then machine-finished; their tone is high and warm and somewhat more open and wider than that of Zen Singing Bowls. Both are also available as sets in which several sizes are harmoniously matched.
What is the Chime Bowl?
The Chime Bowl is a cast singing bowl with a clear, direct tone that is immediately present and resonates only briefly. This makes it particularly suitable for focusing attention and creating transitions, for example in imagery journeys, sound games or at the end of a sound bath.
