Cheap above all else? That has never been our motto. In addition to the durability of our products, we have been working from the very beginning to save as many resources as possible. Avoiding plastic is also a matter close to our hearts. For a sustainable strategy, it is not enough for us to "just" use fewer resources. That is why we make sure that sustainability is considered and anchored in everything we do as a company.
Here you will find a number of things we are already doing today.
Products
Our products are designed to bring you joy for a long time and, with good care, can be used for years. Our singing bowls in particular are used for decades and of course last for generations.
- For our products, we try to use raw materials that are as sustainable, natural and renewable as possible.
- We are also expanding our range to include vegan products and are continuing to look for alternative, vegan options.
Packaging
Online retail generates a lot of packaging material. That is why we have given this particularly careful thought and are continuing to look for ecological alternatives and ways to reduce it. Ideas implemented so far:
- Most of the packaging material is reused or recycled. For example, we use padding made from shredded old boxes that could not be reused as a whole.
- We avoid plastic in shipping wherever possible. We reuse the plastic bags we need for transport from production, which protect the goods from salt water and corrosion during sea freight.
- In our shipping department, we use paper tape instead of plastic tape, as well as paper padding and starch-based packing peanuts in addition to our recycled and reused materials.
Printed matter
A company of our size produces printed matter, whether business cards for trade fairs or the catalog that has become a constant companion for many of our customers. So we have thought about how we can save resources and print in a climate-friendly and ecological way, and so far we have been able to change the following:
- We are switching to digital media step by step. Many of our customers, and we ourselves, still appreciate high-quality materials, so we are not giving up printing our catalog completely, but we now only send it out on request. On our website, you can browse our current catalog online and also download it.
- Whenever possible, we have our printed matter printed climate-neutrally, as often as possible on recycled paper.
Social responsibility
Many of our products, such as singing bowls and gongs, are made in their countries of origin, Nepal, India and China. We pay close attention to good working conditions in production. Among other things, it is important to us that
- A fair wage is paid
- No children work in the workshops concerned
- And that we support the artisans financially in case of illness and for weddings.
Apart from that, "Made in Germany" is at the top of our list. Wherever possible, we have many mallets and other accessories made in Germany.
We believe in things that last …
and therefore place great value on a good working atmosphere. On average, our employees have been with us for about 9 years, and more than a third of our employees have been working with us for over 17 years.
Treating our employees and external partners with kindness and respect is very important to us. Every year we organize team events such as summer parties and Christmas parties.
Donations
We support the association Chancen: Bildung in Nepal e.V. with financial donations. The association's purpose is to promote charitable causes in Nepal and to support local development cooperation, with a focus on education and youth welfare. Above all, it aims to provide underprivileged children with free education, accommodation, food and adequate healthcare.
Office
We also save resources and want to protect the environment right in our offices.
- We use green electricity.
- To avoid waste, we use refill containers for soap and disinfectant. Wherever possible, soap, disinfectant and cleaning agents are made from natural, biodegradable ingredients.
