Together with Peter Hess, we at Hess Sound have revised the names of the Peter Hess® quality levels. Until now, the singing bowls that are placed on the body during sound massages were assigned to the following quality levels:
Previous names:
- Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl = the highest quality level for professional sound massages as well as for private use.
- Peter Hess® Himalaya Singing Bowl = the same manufacturing process as the Therapy Singing Bowl, also used for sound massages, but mainly for private use and only as a supplement in professional settings.
The quality levels result from the fact that, after production, the singing bowls show certain differences in sound or appearance during the quality inspection, which are unavoidable in traditional handcrafted production. Both variants, however, come from the same production and have gone through the same forging process.

We have therefore changed the names so that they reflect the type of singing bowl and its quality level more clearly: in the future, therapy and Himalaya singing bowls will both fall under the name Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl, with the grades Premium and Classic. New seals: Therapy Premium & Therapy Classic
As part of renaming the quality levels, we also had new singing bowl seals designed. These are the labels you find in the center of our Peter Hess® Singing Bowls. The new seals are all in English, as there are now many interested people outside German-speaking countries as well. For a while you will probably still find singing bowls with the previous names (Therapie & Himalaya), and from March 1, 2024 also singing bowls labeled Therapy Premium or Therapy Classic. Of course, this does not change the quality in any way.
Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl Premium
All Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowls are made from a bronze alloy according to old tradition and have excellent sound and vibration quality. In line with our high standards, their quality is checked several times, and they only receive the Premium seal of quality if truly all sound and visual criteria are met. The Premium singing bowls are considered the jewel among singing bowls and were developed for professional sound work with the Peter Hess® Sound Methods. The different singing bowl types (Heart Bowl, Pelvic Bowl, etc.) are assigned to the respective areas of the body.
Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl Classic
With its still outstanding sound quality, the Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl Classic is very well suited for self-application, for use in kindergartens or schools, and for private use in sound massage. Our Classic singing bowls also have to meet high quality standards and therefore have almost the same vibration and frequency behavior as a Premium Therapy Singing Bowl. Dimensions and shape correspond to the Premium singing bowl, but all Therapy Singing Bowls (Premium and Classic) can vary in shape, color and weight, as each one is individually handcrafted. Classic singing bowls are also available for different areas of the body.
