Together with Peter Hess, we at Hess Sound have adjusted the naming of the Peter Hess® quality levels. Previously, the Singing Bowls used on the body during sound massages were assigned to the following quality levels:
Previous Designation:
- Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl = highest quality level for professional sound massages as well as for private use.
- Peter Hess® Himalaya Singing Bowl = same manufacturing process as the Therapy Singing Bowl, also used for sound massages, but mainly in the private sector and only supplementarily in the professional sector.
The quality levels are derived from the fact that after the production process, the Singing Bowls show certain tonal or visual differences during quality control, which are unavoidable in traditional handcraft manufacturing. However, both variants come from the same production and have undergone the same forging process.

We have therefore changed the names so that they reflect the type of Singing Bowl and its quality level more comprehensibly: Therapy and Himalaya Singing Bowls will both fall under the term Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl in the future, with the gradations Premium and Classic. New Seals: Therapy Premium & Therapy Classic
In the course of renaming the quality levels, we also had new Singing Bowl seals designed. These are the labels that you will find in the middle of our Peter Hess® Singing Bowls. The new seals are uniformly in English, as there are now many interested parties in non-German-speaking countries. In the future, you will probably still find Singing Bowls with the previous designations (Therapy & Himalaya) and from March 1, 2024 also the Singing Bowls with the designations Therapy Premium or Therapy Classic. However, the quality will of course not change as a result.
Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl Premium
All Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowls are made of a bronze alloy according to old tradition and have an excellent sound and vibration quality. They are checked several times for their quality in accordance with our high standards and only receive the premium seal of approval if all sound and visual criteria are met. The Premium Singing Bowls are considered the jewel among the Singing Bowls and were developed for professional sound work with the Peter Hess® Sound Methods. The different Singing Bowl types (heart bowl, pelvic bowl, etc.) are assigned to the respective body areas.
Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl Classic
With its consistently excellent sound quality, the Peter Hess® Therapy Singing Bowl Classic is very well suited for self-application, use in kindergartens or schools, as well as for private use in sound massage. Our Classic Singing Bowls must also meet high quality requirements, giving them nearly the same vibration and frequency behavior as a Premium Therapy Singing Bowl. Dimensions and shape correspond to the Premium Singing Bowl, but all Therapy Singing Bowls (Premium and Classic) can vary in shape, color and weight, as each piece is individually handcrafted. Classic Singing Bowls are also available for different body areas.
