imagery journey for children: Spring in the Magic Garden

imagery journeys are a very old tradition that can enchant both children and adults. They bring relaxation, promote creativity and imagination, and support change processes in the brain. A vivid imagination is important for various areas of life. It can help us to learn new things more easily and to develop ourselves further. Our brain is constantly active and malleable. We can use imagery journeys to consciously stimulate change processes. If we regularly imagine the desired changes, new connections are created in the brain that enable us to think, be and act differently.

Why are imagery journeys so valuable for children?

imagery journeys are a wonderful way to lovingly and attentively support children with challenges, strengthen them and playfully show them new perspectives. Inner states of tension can be reduced more easily, and fears and experiences can be processed better. Regular imagery journeys with children can become a valuable resource in terms of coping with life and self-confidence.

Create a pleasant and calm atmosphere. A room that is slightly darkened and offers enough space for the children is best. Pillows, blankets and mats can help the children to make themselves comfortable and find it easier to rest.

Tips for guiding imagery journeys for children

The following tips can help you to optimally design the spring imagery journey for children and give the sounds enough space to unfold their effect:

  • Read very slowly and clearly, and always insert small pauses between the sentences so that the child can process the text well.
  • Be creative and modify the fantasy journey according to your ideas or add to it – this makes the journey even more authentic.
  • You can follow the instructions in the text or use the sounds of the singing bowl intuitively: You can use them throughout the fantasy journey, for example at the beginning, during the breaks and at the end.
  • An even sound invites you to breathe calmly and relax.
  • Note that Singing Bowls can have different effects: Singing Bowls with higher tones have an invigorating effect, Singing Bowls with lower tones create calm and grounding.
  • Offer enough space to reflect, especially at the end of the imagery journey.

Introduction: (Let the singing bowl sound softly)

Today, I'm taking you on a magical journey into spring. If you like, grab a blanket or pillow to make yourself even more comfortable. It's important that you feel good. When you have everything you need, lie down and close your eyes. Feel your breath and the stillness around you. Focus on your stomach and chest, how they both rise as you inhale and fall as you exhale.

    Main part:

Imagine you are in a magical garden in spring. You are standing barefoot on a lush green meadow, looking up at the sky. The sun shines warmly on your skin, bathing everything around you in a golden light.

(Let the singing bowl sound softly)

The sky is blue and clear, and the first delicate flowers stretch their little heads towards the sun. After the cold winter months, nature awakens to new life and shows itself in all its glory. The air is wonderfully fresh and you can smell the scent of the flowers. Birds are chirping everywhere and you can hear the buzzing of small beetles.

(Let the singing bowl sound softly)

In the magical garden, there is a small pond. The water is crystal clear and colorful flowers in all the colors of the rainbow grow all around. A small stream flows into the pond and you can hear the gentle splashing of the water. You feel a pleasant calm emanating from this place – almost as if a special magic lies over this garden, enveloping everyone and everything. Let the sounds of the magic garden affect you.

(Let the singing bowl sound softly)

You hear a soft rustling in the bushes. You walk very slowly and carefully with your bare feet over the soft meadow. Then you see where the noise is coming from: A little hedgehog curiously pokes its head out from under a branch. After a long hibernation, it enjoys the first rays of sunshine on its skin, just like you. You lie down on the meadow a little distance away from the hedgehog and look at the sky. The sun's rays warm you and fill your entire body with new energy. First your feet... then your legs... your hips... your chest... your arms... your neck... and your head. (Let the Singing Bowl sound between each body part)

Just as plants and animals retreat in winter and only awaken again in spring, you too sometimes have moments in your life when you need more rest. These times are important and help you to find your way back to your strength. In such moments, you can remember the magic garden, make yourself comfortable and imagine how the sun fills you with new energy.

When you have gathered enough strength, you can, like the little hedgehog after its hibernation, venture back out into the world. Courageous, curious and full of energy.

(Let the singing bowl sound softly)

Feel your entire body once again. Perhaps you will notice how the sun and the magical sound of the magic garden has filled you with new strength. Do you feel lighter and more energized now than you were before this little journey began? Or are you just very relaxed and rested.

    Closing:

Now slowly return from the enchanted garden to the room. Keep your eyes closed and take a deep breath in and out. Bring gentle movements into your hands and feet. Feel your surroundings very clearly again and carefully open your eyes.

Perhaps in your imagery journey you were able to experience spring in a very vivid way and can now look even more consciously at the beauty of nature. And perhaps you will always remember that awakening in spring does not only happen outside, but also within yourself.
