It invites you to immediately and intuitively immerse yourself in free sound exploration. Every note blends harmoniously into the next, allowing you to improvise freely – whether you are a beginner or an experienced musician.

This Sansula offers an easy, intuitive playing style with a gentle, spherical sound and a relaxing effect.

Area of Application and Benefits

The Hokema Sansula Basic is ideal for sound meditations, sound therapy, or simply for your sound practice at home – to find peace and be creative. It allows you to improvise freely without prior musical knowledge and gives you immediate access to sound. The fine cellulose membrane makes the instrument particularly resonant, but also delicate. For use in schools or with children, we therefore recommend the more robust Sansula Renaissance.

Sound

The Sansula Basic is tuned in A minor and includes additional notes like B and F. The double A tuning enhances the overtones and gives the instrument its characteristic depth. Its sound is warm, spherical, and blends softly together. The fine membrane creates a vibrant, almost floating soundscape that leads you deep within – calm, clear, and touching.

The Sansula is carefully handcrafted in Germany. Its resonance block is made from solid American cherry and European beech. Both woods come from sustainable, tropical wood-free sources. The surfaces have been treated with vegetable linseed oil, which protects the wood and highlights its natural grain.
