Singing bowl friction mallets

Singing Bowls can be made to vibrate and thus sound not only by mallets but also by rubbing. The rubbing requires a little practice - the larger the Singing Bowlthe easier it is to elicit the "singing" sounds with the grater. Wooden or textile leather-covered rubbing mallets have proven their worth for Singing Bowls . To gradually produce a sustained sound, rub the mallet along the outside of the upper edge of the bowl without losing contact.
